All too often sign companies are only interested in the production side of banner making. As a result, rarely do they ask their customers the important questions that will eventually determine the banner installation method. In our opinion, banner installation begins at the time of the sale.

An effective banner salesperson can learn from the customer the type of installation needed prior to the banner production process. The banner can be cost effective in terms of materials used, methods of production, and installation depending on how clearly the banner making company obtains information from the customer at the time of the sale.

As we covered earlier, the primary pre-banner making installation question is "Will the banner be used indoors or outdoors?" Their are substantial differences in banner construction and installation depending the pre-sales information derived from the customer.

When discussing outdoor banners as opposed to indoor banners, important weather questions such as wind, temperature, UV exposure (sunlight), and moisture needs to be factored into the banner and installation process. Questions such as banner durability and longevity for a usable banner life are also important to answers to obtain. The banner consumer may also already have a installation area pre-determined.
